Kindness Is My Superpower is a consultancy and production company that brings the transformative power of storytelling and beatboxing to families, nonprofits, K-12 schools, and corporate trainings. Created in collaboration with school counselor Katie Maxwell McIntyre, the workshop serves as a powerful learning tool.
Chesney Snow, a full-time faculty member at Princeton University and master teaching artist, serves as the founder of the KIMS Project. He develops workshops, curriculum, product design, and research to center empathy and kindness as tools for transformative arts education experiences. He has consulted for Disney, Tinkercast, The US State Department, The Town Hall New York, and countless schools and non-profits accross the nation. Chesney pioneered beatboxing and speech therapy at the Lavelle School for the Blind and created Storytellers Lab, a program that started as theatre programming for young men on Rikers Island. Now, in collaboration with The Fortune Society and Town Hall New York, it supports formerly incarcerated individuals through theatre practices, storytelling, and creative movement.
Chesney's dual professorship with Berklee NYC’s Power Station and Princeton University has facilitated collaborations between Storytellers Lab participants and Berklee NYC students, leading to performances at Princeton University. The combination of hands-on training in theatre arts and storytelling with the artistic history of Town Hall fosters vulnerability and growth among participants.
Chesney developed workshops for the U.S. State Department embassies in India and various schools and organizations nationwide. Kindness Is My Superpower offers a unique opportunity for your students, work colleagues, or children.
Chesney is one of the leading voices in teaching artistry today. He served as Chair of the Theater Department at Harlem School of the Arts and is a longtime member of the New Victory Theater teaching artist ensemble in New York City.
